Good light weight hose for people with kids

If your kid is like my kid they'd rather drink from the hose than just about anything. I bought this with that in mind - it has the best specs of any other "drinking water safe" hose (most just meet FDA standards, this one meets the stricter California standards for about the same price). I really didn't care too much about how well it worked: my kids were mostly going to squirt each other with it, so leaking was not a concern. As it turns out this is the first hose I've bought that doesn't leak at some point. It's also pretty light weight which means my two year old can get in on the squirting action. Like any light weight hose it does kink pretty easily, but again, not really the kind of thing I was concerned about.

If you are looking for something to water your plants with you might want something heavier that kinks less. If weight is an issue then unless you get a "Marine" quality hose you won't find many that are lighter. And if you or your kids drink from the hose, why not pay a few more bucks for one that's a little healthier? (Though again, if weight is an issue most Marine hoses are FDA drinking water approved though they are the most expensive non-commercial hose you can buy).

Great hose for filling 55-gallon water drums

I ordered this hose to use to fill a 55-gallon drum with drinking water to store. It worked well and I felt comfortable that the hose was keeping the drinking water safe. My only concern is that after using once, you need to be cautious to lay the hose out & dry the inside thourougly or else the next time you use it you may be running your water through mold & other impurities that have accumulated from the water previously being inside.
